Revenue Administration

Department of Land Revenue is fast evolving, adopting most modern technologies, aimed at providing efficient, effective and transparent services to the citizens. Collection of land revenue, land conservancy, land utilization, land assignment, disaster management, election, census, protection of public rights, matters regarding law and order, certificates, social justice and welfare, maintenance of land records are some of the major functions which fall under the Department. The Department is committed to providing effective, efficient and transparent services to the citizens.

 

Revenue Day

February 24 is observed as Revenue Day. This is observed to commemorate the proclamation of Travancore Settlement on 24.02.1886, by the erstwhile ruler of the state ,Sri Moolam Thirunal Ramavarma Maharaja. As per this proclamation, the state was resurveyed and settlement records were published by 1905.

 

Bharana Bhasha Malayalam

Malayalam is the official language of the State Government. It is important to offer services in the mother tongue of the people to maintain transparency and ensure the participation of the public. The Department of Official Languages give awards each year to employees who provide best services in Malayalam language. The nomination for “Bharana Bhasha Purasakaram” is invited during the month of September, every year.
